PepsiCo India Announces Leadership Transition with Jagrut Kotecha as CEO Amid Global Strategy Shift

PepsiCo India has undergone a leadership transition, appointing Jagrut Kotecha as the new CEO, replacing Ahmed El Sheikh, who will now oversee the company's Middle East operations. The move is part of a broader series of leadership changes across PepsiCo Africa, Middle-East, and South Africa (AMESA). Eugene Willemsen, CEO of Africa, Middle-East, and South Asia, highlighted India's pivotal role in PepsiCo's global strategy and praised Ahmed El Sheikh for his transformative leadership over the past six years.

Jagrut Kotecha, the newly appointed CEO, has been the Chief Commercial Officer of PepsiCo AMESA and brings extensive experience, having joined the company in 1994. His previous roles include Vice President of PepsiCo India in 2018, where he played a key role in transforming products like Lay's and Kurkure to better suit Indian consumers. PepsiCo India has witnessed a surge in demand for snacks and chips during the pandemic, leading to several product launches, with more planned to meet consumer needs. Additionally, PepsiCo is expanding its Global Business Services Centre in Hyderabad from 250 to 4,000 employees.
