Brazil Opens Cattle and Tilapia Export Gates to Pakistan and Philippines

Brazil has received approval from Pakistan to export live cattle, embryos, and semen of cows to the South Asian country. Additionally, Brazil has been granted permission to export young tilapia fish to the Philippines. Last year, Brazil exported nearly $489 million in live cattle, marking a significant increase of 154% compared to 2022. Pakistan's imports from Brazil in 2023 amounted to $298 million, primarily comprising fibers and textiles. Meanwhile, the Philippines imported $918 million worth of goods from Brazil, with meat proteins accounting for more than three-quarters of the imports. Overall, Brazil exported almost $340 billion worth of products in 2023, with China being the main destination, purchasing nearly $106 billion worth of goods.
