Hapag-Lloyd, the German container shipping company, has announced a General Rate Increase (GRI) for shipments from India to West Coast Latin America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Mexico. The GRI will apply to 20' and 40' dry containers starting from January 22 until further notice. The rate increase details are as follows:
- 20' dry container: US$500
- 40' dry container: US$500
- 40' high cube container: US$500
The affected regions include West Coast Latin America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Mexico, covering countries such as Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, and Venezuela.
This announcement reflects Hapag-Lloyd's adjustment in shipping rates for these specific trade lanes. Customers involved in containerized cargo shipments between India and the mentioned regions should consider these rate changes when planning their logistics operations.
